The MSU Endocrinology Fellows receive stipends, benefits, and educational reimbursements through Graduate Medical Education, Inc. (GMEI). GMEI is the non-profit graduate medical education consortium for the Lansing-East Lansing community. GMEI is a partnership of excellence between the Lansing hospitals (Sparrow Health System and Ingham Regional Medical Center) and Michigan State University (the Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine). GMEI’s mission is to support partner institutions in their efforts to provide excellent medical education in the Mid-Michigan Region through diverse, quality educational experiences in a collaborative environment. Graduate Medical Education, Inc. (GMEI) institutional partners - Sparrow Health System, Michigan State University Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine, and Ingham Regional Medical Center, have agreed to use the same residency management software citywide to facilitate graduate medical education training opportunities and better manage the required documentation for accreditation and Medicare/Medicaid reporting. New Innovations is a tool that assists medical schools, hospitals and private practices in the area of medical education and department administration to unify data into a centralized data warehouse and to complete tasks, historically performed using multiple, incompatible methods, through one common interface.
Fellows can access their MSU e-mail account and other MSU related resources over the Internet using a Citrix account.
