Based at the Ingham Regional Medical Center site, the MSU Breslin Cancer Clinic is a full-service, academic, community-based, outpatient cancer care facility in Lansing, with a reach that extends throughout the nation through its participation in clinical trials. At MSU Breslin, oncologists, nurses and the entire cancer treatment team become part of each patient’s “family”support system. The following are just a few of the benefits offered to patients: Interdisciplinary team approach for coordinated, comprehensive, individualized treatment planning Disease specific clinics Dedicated chemotherapy outpatient infusion center with certified oncology nurses On-site oncology pharmacist who mixes all chemotherapy and is available to answer patients’ questions about medications Clinical Trials office, affiliated with Great Lakes Cancer Institute, which seeks matches for patients who qualify for regional or nationally approved clinical trials. Such trials offer qualified patients experimental therapies that either complement or provide outcomes that exceed current standard treatment An on-site Oncology Certified Social Worker who works with patients on an individual and group basis to provide support to them and their families before, during and after treatment Around-the-clock medical management provided by 24-hour on-call oncologist to address medical emergencies and needs that occur after hours American Cancer Society Community Cancer Resource Library available in the Breslin lobby.
